Information We Collect
Health Data: With your explicit permission, BetterNature accesses health data from Apple HealthKit, including:
- Sleep analysis (duration, quality, bed/wake times)
- Step count and active calories
- Workout sessions (type and duration)
- Heart rate variability (HRV) and resting heart rate
User-Provided Data: Information you provide directly, including:
- Goals and personal motivations ("why")
- Daily check-in responses
- Conversations with the AI coach
- Alcohol consumption logs
- Mood and energy ratings
Waitlist Data: If you sign up for our waitlist, we collect your email address.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide personalized health coaching and accountability
- Detect behavioral patterns and provide insights
- Track your progress toward goals
- Send waitlist updates and launch notifications (email only)
Data Storage and Security
Your health data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework. Conversation data is processed through Anthropic's Claude API with industry-standard encryption.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal health data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
BetterNature uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic Claude API: Powers the AI coaching conversations. Conversations are processed according to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- Apple HealthKit: Provides health data with your permission, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Formspree: Processes waitlist signups, governed by Formspree's Privacy Policy.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Revoke HealthKit permissions at any time through iOS Settings
- Opt out of waitlist communications
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
BetterNature is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
